According to one of the fighters expected to compete, the "biggest fight in UFC history" is nearing finalization.
The leading MMA organization is planning several significant matches for the remainder of 2025, including Ilia Topuria's debut in the lightweight division.

The highly anticipated heavyweight title unification fight between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall is at the forefront.
Negotiations for this fight began late last year, and there were concerns that Jones' financial demands might prevent the match from happening.
However, according to Aspinall, the UFC now simply needs to "find a date and venue" for the fight, as an agreement with Jones has been reached.
In his UFC 313 reaction video, Aspinall mentioned that a potential fight between Jones and Pereira is "off the table now."
"There's only one thing to do. Sign the contract and set a date." Aspinall stated.
"We saw Dana White speaking last night."
"Everything is now agreed on Jon's side, and the UFC just needs to find a date and venue."
Former top-ranked fighter Jones had previously expressed his desire to fight Alex Pereira late last year.

However, Pereira's recent loss to Magomedov Ankalaev at UFC 313, where he lost the light-heavyweight title, appears to have আপাতত halted those plans.
UFC president Dana White is not convinced about Pereira moving up in weight after a loss.
He commented, “When you consider asking a fighter to move up two weight classes to heavyweight and face the greatest of all time, there are still tough challenges in the light heavyweight division."
“I believe in moving up weight classes after dominating your current division, which hasn’t happened yet in this case.”
White is fully supportive of the Jones vs Aspinall matchup, which he has repeatedly suggested could become the "biggest fight in UFC history."
He stated, “Listen, Jon Jones definitely wants this fight."
"We are currently working on the when and where – I am very confident this fight will happen.”

UFC officials are hoping to organize this significant unification fight before the fall.
During an appearance on The Jim Rome Show, White said, "The plan is for Aspinall to fight Jon this summer."
“Obviously, the details of when and where are still being decided. My goal this year is to make the fight with Aspinall happen."
Jones, 37, has not competed in the octagon since defending his undisputed title with a third-round TKO against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 last November.
Meanwhile, Aspinall last fought in July, defending his interim title with a 60-second stoppage of Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304.
