Nina-Marie Daniele has been jokingly called the “new Drake” after UFC fighter Alex Pereira lost his title fight shortly after she interviewed him.
The popular MMA reporter, 36, interviewed Pereira last week leading up to his UFC light heavyweight title defense.

Pereira was defeated by Magomed Ankalaev in his recent fight, losing his belt.
Earlier, Nina also interviewed Arman Tsarukyan in January. Tsarukyan later had to withdraw from a fight due to injury, leading fans to joke that his training session with Nina was to blame.
Tsarukyan himself jokingly said to Nina the following month, “I hurt my back because of you”.
Nina is expected to attend UFC 314 in Miami on April 12, where Alex Volkanovski and Diego Lopes are scheduled to fight.
After UFC 313, Nina shared a video of herself ringside with Volkanovski, expressing her excitement for UFC 314.
She wrote online about being excited for Alexander Volkanovski’s upcoming fight at UFC 314.
Considering the recent outcomes for Pereira and Tsarukyan, fans quickly expressed concern for Volkanovski.

One fan joked, “You cursed him Nina.”
Another commented that “Ninacurse is the new Drakecurse.”
Another fan chimed in with “The Nina curse is upon us.”
One more added a warning to Volkanovski, “Run Volk run!! The Nina curse is upon you!”
However, someone else complimented Nina’s appearance with “10 outta 10.”
The “Drake Curse” is a known phenomenon referring to instances where rapper Drake’s support or bets on athletes or teams have been followed by losses.
Last summer, Drake reportedly lost $355,000 betting on Mike Tyson to defeat Jake Paul.
Drake also placed a $1 million bet on Argentina to win against France in regular time at the 2022 World Cup final, which they did not achieve.
