After two incredibly close and record-setting matches, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will face each other for a third time. This fight will be for Taylor’s undisputed super lightweight championship on July 11 and will be the main event of a historic all-women’s boxing event at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The event, promoted by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Jake Paul stated to ESPN, ‘It’s very fitting that we can announce this highly anticipated third fight between two of the greatest female athletes of all time during Women’s History Month, as part of an all-women’s card.’
Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP, said, ‘Unlike many others in boxing, MVP has always championed women as equals to men and treated them with utmost respect. We will never compromise on these values. This all-women’s card shows how far the sport has progressed and marks the start of MVP’s bigger push to elevate the next generation of female fighters.’

Taylor and Serrano’s previous two fights were historic. Their first fight on April 30, 2022, was the first time women headlined a fight card at Madison Square Garden. Taylor won by a narrow split decision in front of a packed audience. The rematch was the co-main event for Paul’s major fight with Mike Tyson on November 15, 2024. Taylor successfully defended her super lightweight titles with a controversial unanimous decision against Serrano.
Their second fight was streamed on Netflix and broke records with an average of 74 million viewers globally. It became the most-watched women’s sports event in U.S. history and was named the 2024 Women’s Fight of the Year by ESPN.
Bidarian told ESPN, ‘After the fight on November 15, Netflix approached us wanting to do more with Most Valuable Promotions. They specifically wanted to see this third fight, and we proposed an all-women’s event to highlight women in the sport on their platform with over 300 million global subscribers. They immediately agreed.’
Like the Paul-Tyson fight, Netflix will stream this event on a Friday night. The rest of the all-women’s fight card will be announced later.
Joel Fisher, executive vice president for marquee events and operations at MSG Entertainment, said, ‘Madison Square Garden has hosted the biggest boxing matches in history, including the ‘Fight of the Century’ and the 2022 fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano. We are excited to welcome these incredible athletes back to ‘The World’s Most Famous Arena’ for another historic event with our first-ever all-female professional boxing card.’
Taylor, 38, from Ireland, is ranked No. 2 on ESPN’s pound-for-pound list and has been undisputed champion in two weight classes. After a 22-0 start to her professional career, she had her first loss when she moved up to super lightweight and lost to Chantelle Cameron in May 2023. She won the rematch later that year to regain her undisputed title and then defended it against Serrano last November.
Taylor (24-1, 6 KOs) said, ‘I am 2-0 against Amanda, but it’s a very special rivalry that always delivers when we fight. So, I think it’s right that we have a third fight. The atmosphere for the first fight there was amazing, and I’m sure it will be the same this time.’
Serrano, 36, from Puerto Rico, is ranked No. 3 on ESPN’s pound-for-pound list. She holds a Guinness World Record for the most boxing world championships won in different weight classes by a female, with nine major world titles across seven classes. Since a loss in 2012, Serrano is 33-2-1, with her only two losses against Taylor. The close nature of these losses justified a third fight.
Serrano (47-3-1, 31 KOs) said, ‘I promised my fans they would see this third fight, and I’m very grateful that we can finish our journey where it started — at Madison Square Garden, live on Netflix for the world to see.’
The first two fights were 10 rounds of two minutes each, the standard in women’s boxing, and the third fight will be the same. However, Serrano has pushed for 12 three-minute rounds for the third fight to match men’s championship fights. According to Serrano, they couldn’t agree on 12 three-minute rounds for this fight.
Serrano stated, ‘I’m disappointed that Katie Taylor didn’t keep her word to make the third fight 12 three-minute rounds, equal to men’s fights. This is a record payday for both of us, and we owed it to the fans to honor the handshake deal we made. She didn’t. But make no mistake, every time we are in the ring, it is war, and I know Friday, July 11, will be the greatest yet because I will finally get the win I deserve.’
