However, Dern, a prominent figure in women's MMA, expressed a different sentiment. During the UFC 330 media day press conference, when asked about Garry's statement, Dern revealed her more traditional perspective. She acknowledged the strength and independence of women but stated a preference for men to take the lead.

"I come from a more traditional upbringing, and obviously the women in my family are super strong and independent. But I like the guy protecting and leading," Dern explained. "I like to relax – if I need to go to war with him, I will, but I’m a Mom and stuff like that. We don’t depend on guys; we’re independent, but I do like the man taking the lead."

Garry himself has largely avoided further discussion on his recent remarks amidst the fan backlash, focusing on his upcoming bout. Despite some challenges in winning over the fanbase since joining the UFC, a victory at UFC 330 could significantly boost Garry's popularity.
