Experienced Coaching Duo Takes Helm

Ramachandran Ramesh, a highly respected coach globally, known for training successful chess players like Aravindh, Hairkrishna, and Praggnanandhaa, has been named the Technical Commissioner for the Italian national chess team.

The Italian Chess Federation (FSI) made this decision during their Federal Council meeting on March 4th.

Ramesh, a 48-year-old Grandmaster since 2003 and Commonwealth Champion in 2007, established a successful chess school in Chennai. He succeeds Loek van Wely in this role.

For the women’s national team, Mihail Marin will take over as Technical Commissioner, replacing Roberto Mogranzini.

Marin, a Romanian Grandmaster, is well-known in chess circles for his extensive publications and video tutorials. Fluent in Italian, English, and German, he previously served as Judit Polgar’s second in the 2005 World Championship and coached Daniele Vocaturo to his Grandmaster title.
