Why UEFA Champions League Games Start an Hour Later

खेल समाचार » Why UEFA Champions League Games Start an Hour Later

The UEFA Champions League is back this week with the continuation of the round of 16 matches. However, viewers in the U.S. will notice a slight change in the start times.

Due to daylight saving time, which began in several North American countries on Sunday, all games this week will begin an hour later for U.S. audiences. Coverage will also start an hour later to align with the time change. Europe will not observe daylight saving time until later in March.

Here’s what you need to know about the adjusted Champions League kickoff times in the U.S. this week.

Why the Later Kickoffs?

The U.S.’s move to daylight saving time means that games will commence an hour later across the nation and other regions that advanced their clocks on March 9th. Since Europe’s daylight saving time begins on March 30th, this kickoff time difference will be in effect for several weeks.

Which Games Are Affected?

Only the second leg matches of the round of 16 are affected by the daylight saving time difference between North America and Europe. The competition schedule will normalize from April 8th for the quarterfinals, which will occur after European countries also adjust their clocks forward.
