Zak Foulkes, a 22-year-old fast bowler from New Zealand, will be joining Durham for their T20 Blast campaign.
Foulkes, who made his international debut in April 2024, has played in eight white-ball international matches. He is known for his height and fast right-arm seam bowling. Seven of his appearances have been in T20 Internationals, where he has taken nine wickets with an average of 26.33. His best performance was against Sri Lanka, where he took 3 wickets for 20 runs.
This isn’t Foulkes’ first experience in the Vitality Blast. Last summer, he played seven matches for Birmingham Bears, taking eight wickets.
Foulkes expressed his excitement about joining Durham for this season’s Vitality Blast, saying he has heard positive feedback about the club and is eager to get started.
Marcus North, Durham’s Director of Cricket, commented that they are very happy to have signed Zak for the T20 Blast season.
North highlighted the importance of bringing in a player like Foulkes who offers a unique dimension to their bowling attack.
He added that despite being only 22, Foulkes has demonstrated his dynamic and versatile skills in T20 cricket both internationally and domestically. Durham is looking forward to welcoming him this summer.
